The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar Join EGYCXO IoT Executive Roundtable
CAIRO, EGYPT – December 6th, 2021–Showcase Egypt, The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Showcase Egypt have joined forces to participate in the “EGYCXO’22 Executive Roundtable”.
The event supported by Dr. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aims to empower students, educators, universities, and fresh graduates with the most in-demand skills required for Egypt’ Future IoT ecosystems.
“We are looking forward to our participation as a partner in EGYCXO’22 and the 2021 IoT Olympian competition.” The office of the Honorable Prof. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, confirmed.
Dr. Hesham Farouk Ali Abd-El-Hafez, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation, led the discussion in early November, setting the path for a successful relationship.
“We’ve formulated a long-term strategic plan and vision that will guide us toward the MOHESR 2030. At the same time, given the phenomenal growth of connected devices in the Internet of Things, the issue of how higher education supports educators amidst challenges facing IoT becomes a key consideration in teaching and learning.” Dr. Hesham Farouk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation, stated.
Dr. Heba Adel Soliman El-Sayed, Strategic Planning Expert at the Digital Transformation Unit, confirmed the participation of the Honorable Prof. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed Egypt’s keenness to support cooperation and partnership with global partners, especially in Science, Technology, and Innovation, paving the way for more achievement and reinforcing the partnership between Egypt and the world.
The event is part of the Showcase Egypt skilling initiative to upskill 2.5 million Egyptian Entreupenures with the skills needed in a COVID-19 economy.
The Ministry aims to discuss venues to equip more than 125,000 students in Egypt with soft skills and employability abilities as part of this partnership.

Reimagining higher education post COVID-19
When the pandemic hit, many Egyptian colleges and universities moved quickly to remote learning and other delivery models, launched affordability initiatives, and found creative ways to support their students. Now is the time to build on these lessons to reimagine the next five to ten years and beyond.
With this partnership, Showcase Egypt will continue to develop innovations, solutions, and greater capacity to confront Egyptian everyday challenges and contribute to a more prosperous and secure Egypt.
About Dr. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar
Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Egypt
Prof. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar is currently the Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Egypt. He is a professor of Oral Medicine, Oral Diagnosis, Oral Radiology and Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain-Shams University.
Dr. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar held many positions before the current one; he was vice president for postgraduates Studies & Research & Dean of Faculty of Dentistry Ain-Shams University. He accomplished a lot of honors and recognitions.
Today, Prof. Khaled Abd-El-Ghaffar is entrusted with Egypt’s Education Vision 2030. He sets the top priorities and ambitions to reform Higher Education in Egypt.
MOHESR’ focus is improving Higher Education’s quality and relevance to match the needs of new learning technologies and human resource development. In parallel to improving the quality and relevance of technical education by establishing new technical universities.
Accordingly, another initiative step is to enhance the internationalization of Higher Education and strengthen cooperation with other countries by issuing the new by-laws for the establishment and organization of the International Branch Campus in Egypt.
Furthermore, he played a proactive and sensitizing role in defining the National STI Strategy of Egypt, in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
